Tire pressure stickers & placards

What is a Tire pressure sticker?

Tire pressure safety labels indicate the proper tire size and pressure for your individual vehicle. Operating a vehicle with improper tire pressure can lead to injury. Tire pressure and vehicle certification labels will indicate the Gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) and Gross Axle weight ratings (GAWR).

Tire inflation levels effect your how your vehicle carries loads and can affect performance.

Your vehicles recommended cold inflation pressure refers to optimal tire pressure denoted in pounds per square inch (psi) or kilopascals (kPa). A visual inspection will not always be indicative of your pressure. There is extra pressure in warm tires, so tire pressure should be measured while tires are cold. You can compensate for this extra pressure, but it won't be as accurate as the cold weather inflation pressure recommended on your placard.

Your placard may also indicate summer tire pressure, comfort tire pressure, vehicle loadings and speeds, tire pressure monitoring systems, wet or dry tire conditions, number of occupants, how often to re-torque wheels, tire inflation assist functions, see owners manual for additional information.
